Ted Talk Coming Soon

So I know everyone knows what a ted talk is and if not you should go check them out. But right now im finalizing my project and getting ready for my ted talk . Ted talks arnt to be intense for the speaker its supposed to just flow.
The topics for ted talks can range from almost anything , i have yet to pick out a name for my project but its been a process. This weekend i will be making finial touchups to the product . Hopefully it sets correctly this time or im not going to have a product. But for all the people thats in high school and reads this , school is almost over the stress is almost gone. But ill have later post this week

Coming to the end

Its coming to the end of this project , i still have to do some of my chapsticks over but i learned through this project if you dont have the passion or motivation for something it wont get done. With me its probably other priorities and the fact im in 5 other class and the fact id have to order more stuff after i ordered what i thought would be it in order to get this lipstick to be what it needed to be. But in stead chapstick is usually not tinted and since that was my issue with the lipstick finding a way it could still be 100% and tinted i just swiched. I did make some chapstick but the amount of coconut was high and so it didnt solidify like i need it to . Coconut oil starts at a lower heat range to begin melting so it would be easy for you to accidentally leave it in the car and it be liquid gold. So i have to empty the tubes and start over . But either way if i use shea butter it has a higher melting temp but it can still melt so basically with natural chapsticks or lipsticks they cant be in heated areas due to the oil contents . Either tomorrow or later this upcoming week when i feel like redoing them ill have a mid week blog post to feel you in and also make up for the ones i havent done .

COMPLETE

So i recently just two days ago finish my product. It happens to be chap stick instead because i just couldn't find a way to tint the lipstick . I did a coconut and shea butter base and 5 have honey and the others have lemon tea and pure vanilla extract in them. As i was checking them this morning i realized that i used more coconut oil then shea butter so its greasy and if not used in small quantity it will bleed off some peoples lipstick. So i will either advertise it as a lip conditioner just for smoothing purposes not to like just wear out or to put on top of lipstick to bring a glossy finish. Im glad i'm done with my product but it has flaws so i'm not sure if i want to let people use it or not , but its totally safe to put on your skin its just very greasy . So if anyone wants to comment ideas that would be nice.

Also

As far as pictures i dony know Blogger has been aggy , like when i try to do it on my phone it just fails like the whole app . Then on the computer at school it,didnt work as well . But I wont worry about posting the picture of the samples . If i can find a computer or the ones at my house work ill show the complete chapsticks , which will be very soon since the deadline is soon. There also wont be but one collection even if some are tinted it will just be all together, once thats done ill work on getting people to use it and get feedback . So if i do have constant readers , just hold on the end is coming soon :)

Honestly

Sooo honestly i have lost motivation for this project , which is why its so hard to update my blog . But currently ive done 2 samples which one had to go in the trash due to the fact it had beets in it . Making natural products isnt as easy as people may think , you have to find a way for preservation and if you want it to have a deep tint . So i believe im just going to make chapstick , i Mean its a lip product and it will be 100% natural , i might even find a way to add color but i wont have to worry about it being tinted , which considering the fact the deadline is coming soon it will be easy . But honestly who worked on this during there spring break .

Before 11:59 , completed

Im Back . So i haven't been posting much because i was either tired or i forgot , lame reason i know but i have been working on my project. Ive made two samples and after i write this blog i'm going to do some more research. When i made my batches i didn't really measure anything i just eyeballed things. So next time ill have to measure but i don't think me it measure was the reason the lipsticks didn't mold as firm. But if i am able to redo these two samples and it actually work i would have one collection out the way. Hopefully everything turns out well . Finally

Finally i have done 2 samples both with bentonite clay which brings a matte finished . I havent got the results i wanted from these so i have to do more research for the base recipe. Its not solidifying as i want it to its closer to chapstick consistency and thats not what im looking for , so my next step is to research ways to make it solidify and then try later this weekend. I know i keep saying ill post these pictures and i shall tonight. Im getting my life together guys (laugh) im always tired from track practice so i just plop in bed when i get home and since the pictures are mandatory i push a day back until today . I promise i will post both the ingredients i used and the samples i made . Until Friday , keep reading and comment ideas :)

Late update

Okay so like i said in my last post i have all my materials . i will still be showin a picture of them but ill make a separate post for the pictures. Other then getting all the materials im writing up the recipes i will do so when i get ready to try them it wont take as long. Also it will be easier if its already written so when i give samples out i can just show the ingredients. So i can get direct feedback on the form i typed up i left a feedback section. So i type this like understanding form or i dont know what you would call it , but everyone who has a sample has to sign it with the understanding that these are 100% natural ingredients and its out there own curiosity and intreast to try it on their skin . I will provide the ingredients on the form as well so there isnt any secrets and even though these ingredients are gentler and healthier for ones skin some people with sensitive or fragile skin may still have a issue . Im excited to see the feedback for people that try my product. 2 weeks from now ill start my trails . Until then keep reading ,make comments and share .

Last Steps

Hi , so this week i've been ordering my materials off of amazon . I have everything i need except the Shea butter and cheese cloth , one i get those materials i will start my samples. I ordered 12 lipstick tubes which now that I'm thinking about it i might need more , but we will see. Im still working on the names and formulating the recipes for both collections (bold & matte). Since this is a project and I'm asking a project that has natural ingredients and its going on ones skin ,  i will be making consent letters. It will include the samples name they are trying , the ingredients included and ones signature. I will allow them to sample it for a week and keep up with feedback as to how it works on their skin and so on. I meant to take pictures and Post them to show the materials i will be using. Since i like to include information i will tell some benefits and other ways to use the oils and butters that will be in the lipsticks.


Coconut Oil: is a edible extracted oil it can be used in cooking for a healthier oil also with hair regiments. Its also used in medicines. It good for clean health skin as well. Other uses include; toothpaste , oil pulling , face wash and more


Shea butter: Common uses as lotion , helps with locking in moisture and keeping your skin healthy and smooth for a long period of time. Other uses include ; soaps , lotions , hair conditioner ,body washes and plenty more
